We made a few stops from Camaret-Sur-Mer, but unfortunately I have no pictures of those, so you'll have to settle for a summary.
The first stop was Guernsey in the English Channel to pick up 4000L of tax free diesel. We enjoyed many adventures on this crazy little island, among other things meeting Kara at th Ship and Crown Pub.
After Guernsey we dropped anchor over night on the French coast to catch the tide through the channel and lastly we stopped over one night in Calais to pick up our last crew member, Elizabeth. Calais was a very adventurous stop over.
Coming into breskens, we ran into ¨The Fog of Fogs¨. It was other-worldly. We could see between 10 and 20 meters, which made navigating into the harbour a charm.
But, summan-av-kardimumman, we made it in and were greeted by the most organize and friendliest private yacht marinas I've been to. That is, until customs turned up... Pete and I had just settled down to a big juicy steak. As I'm halfway through, Matilda calls and says that customs is there. To much dissatisfaction, I left my steak to go to them. I told them my food was waiting, so they started engaging in the longest and most thorough search in the boating in history. When they wanted to unscrew the wall behind my bed, i lost it, and they ended up leaving without unscrewing the wall.
We spent a few days here and looked for heating for the boat. To cut a long story short, after an exhausting search, we found it in the last second in the most unlikely place. Happy with finally getting some heating and our time spent in this wonderful culture, we set sail for the Kiel Kanal.
