After our adventure picking up Alfred in Lisabon, we sailed straight up to Baiona. It was two dreary days and nights in some of the thickest fog I've ever seen. We were to experience even thicker fog on this sail, but that's another story. The fog in this case worse because it went on for so long. It was as if someone turned down the colour saturation on earth for two days. But then, as we neared Baiona, the sun joined us once again and it was like the the most jovial breakfast cereal commercial tune you've ever heard. There was colour once again!
It was a coincidence I happened to pick Baiona, as Alfred had stayed there after he had sailed Biscaya the last time. This was great for the rest of us, as he knew all the best tapas bars. He also bought us a dinner, definitely worth remembering, on the celebration of his birthday.
A beautiful place worth a visit!
